New Benefits for Farmers Market Members

New Farmers Market Benefits!

Since we’re making our first ever increase to our Farmers Market Memberships, we wanted to provide some additional benefits to soften the blow – and to make our service even more fun!

New Benefit #1, Rogue Produce Weekly Lottery

When you order from our Online Farmers Market, your home delivery gets an identifier , like “B-11,” which helps us organize our routes. We’ve decided that each week we will roll the dice to determine which order is the lucky winner of the Rogue Produce Lottery! Our standard weekly prize will be a $10 shopping credit to the winner. Of course, we’ll switch up the prize from time to time; maybe we’ll double the coupon once a month, or give away Rogue Produce Merchandise (see below).

New Benefit #2, Discounts on Merchandise

We’ve started our search for high quality, sustainable merchandise to sell on our store, and we’ll give Members a significant discount on these products (once we know the costs). We’re thinking we’ll start with t-shirts, caps, coffee mugs and water bottles; and we imagine we’ll find some more unique items as we shop around.

Farm Collective Update

It’s no joke when the excavator tips into a ditch! It took us a couple of mornings to pull this thing out, and to put back on the track that fell off one side – the crew is learning a lot about heavy equipment though.

You’ll be happy to know that everyone employed with Rogue Produce is part of the Farm Collective, and it is an endeavor that is proving to bring us all much closer together. Each of us have our own specialties of sorts, and we’re all interested in growing different things and applying our unique skills to the work that needs being done – whether that’s planting, weed whacking, watering, pruning, harvesting, digging, bookkeeping, or administrative work. It all needs getting done!

We have one new commercial client on board with our Community Compost service, Cartwright’s Market, in Medford. We are very grateful for these types of arrangements, because it allows us to pick up a whole lot of food scraps in one trip! Thank you Cartwright’s!

We should be harvesting some more basil in the weeks to come. We’ll also have a few varieties of heirloom and cherry tomatoes; zucchini, potatoes, peppers, cucumbers, melons, Winter squash, and herbs of many varieties soon!

Most of the work we’ve been up to these first few months has been cleaning up the farm and doing fire prevention work, and we did our best with the Summer crop plantings mentioned above. We are all new-comers to farming, but with helpful guidance of our mentor we are confident we’ll have some high quality harvests.

Thank you for your support! Your orders make all this happen  : )

Farmers Market To Your Door

Rogue Produce Delivers

We bring the Farmers Market to your door every Friday with home delivery of fresh local produce, meats, cheeses, and a huge variety of amazing local products (even a one-of-a-kind locally manufactured cribbage board). This week we’re happy to announce that we’ve restocked with the amazing olive oil and vinegar from Pasture 42! Order now for a home delivery this Friday, May 15. If you’re a new customer, create an account and then place your order by 5 pm tonight.

What’s Hot

Actually, the first product from our Farmers Market I’d like to mention comes frozen: the incredible Wake-N-Bagel from Little Shop of Bagels in Ashland. These have become a household staple at our place. Let the dough thaw overnight and pop them in the oven in the morning and you get the most delicious bagel ever!

The olive oil from Pasture 42 comes in 3 varieties: standard arbequina (which is phenomenal), garlic infused, and lemon infused. The vinegar options are elderberry, fig, and pomegranate.

We’ve also recently added delectable cross rib roasts from Salant Family Ranch.

As always we feature the amazing fresh local produce from the farmers you love in Southern Oregon, and supplement our Farmers Market with organic produce that can’t be grown locally, such as avocado, citrus, and lots of others you can’t go without.

Order now if you’re a regular customer, or register for an account if you’re trying Rogue Produce for the first time. No commitment necessary – order as you please every week!

Thank you for supporting local!

The Omnivore Share

Organic pizza dough from Bread Stop Bakery. Choose either original or rosemary!

We are now the exclusive provider in Southern Oregon of the amazing fresh and organic pizza dough from The Bread Stop, in Eugene. They’ve discontinued their deliveries to our area, but we have a special connection that makes the trip north from time to time to stock up! You can choose from the original or the rosemary (use the “special instructions” box to let us know which). We’re also acquiring an amazing tomato sauce – perfect for pizza – from Sweet Creek Foods, also located in the Eugene area. Sweet Creek uses only organic and northwest grown tomatoes for all of their sauces! And to top it off (no pun intended), you can choose from the mild or spicy Italian sausage from Riverdog Farm; you cannot find a tastier sausage for any Italian dish!

Mild or spicy Italian sausage links – you pick!

We’ve thrown in a couple of other possible pizza toppings into the Omnivore CSA Share:  crimini mushrooms, red onion, and some of the spinach from Wandering Roots. Bakery, red onion, a medley of red and gold potatoes, spinach from Wandering Roots Farm, and a dozen eggs (with a couple of duck eggs mixed in with every dozen) from Harris Family Farm in Central Point. Yummy!

Winter Farmers Market Preview

Hello Southern Oregon!

We’re All NutsRogue Produce begins its Winter CSA the week after Thanksgiving, on Friday, December 4. Beginning at that time, we switch from an every-week delivery to every other week. Our Standard Delivery moves from a promised value of $21–$25 every week to a guaranteed value of $50 in the every-other-week delivery. We will continue to offer the convenience of custom orders and home delivery and can skip delivery any time you need to for any reason. You don’t have to wait until December to sign-up with Rogue Produce, but here’s a preview of some of the delicious products we will be featuring from the best of our local farms and small businesses this winter. Support Rogue Valley local all year long!

Fresh Produce

We’ll feature all the usual winter fare, including squash, leeks, onions, potatoes, kale, garlic, carrots, beets, celery, and some fresh salad mix and snap peas as well. We also have connections with farms in Northern California that supply us with delicious citrus items such as lemons and mandarin oranges in January and February. We’ve even been known to source fresh cranberries from organic farmers in Central Oregon as well as walnuts, almonds, and other varieties of nuts.

Dried and Frozen Fruits

We’ve teamed up in years past with Hi Hoe Farm to supply dried apples and pears and Happy Dirt Veggie Patch for sun-dried tomatoes. We aim to offer these items again this year as well as frozen fruits from a variety of farms, including Valley View Orchard, Pennington Farms, and Antonio’s Farm. Our frozen fruit selection will include pitted cherries, sliced peaches, berry medleys, raspberries, strawberries, apricots, and more!

Dry Goods

Dunbar Farms in Medford keeps us going strong through the winter with a fantastic selection of beans, flours, and other items like polenta and popcorn. Higher Power Raw Foods is a great source for granolas, trail mix, sprouted nuts — including cashews, walnuts, and almonds — and other treats like raw crackers and chocolate bars.

Breads

Sunstone Artisan Bakery in Ashland will be cooking up a special batch or two of some of their flavorful holiday breads, and we’ll continue to offer their staples of slicer loaves, baguettes, and crackers throughout the winter. Organicos is our source for the best of the gluten-free world, with tasty loaves of Cinnamon Raisin, Brown Rice, Multi-Seeded, and Oat varieties, plus a delicious gluten-free pizza crust!

And Much More!

It doesn’t stop there! We’ll also be delivering select cheeses from Rogue Creamery; one-of-a-kind jams from Pennington Farm and Talent Natural Farm; Olive Oil and Elderberry Balsamic Vinegar from Pasture 42; honey; tea; locally roasted coffee; pickled items; and superfoods like raw chocolates, smoothie mixes, and hot chocolate mix from Bright Earth Foods in Ashland.
